Xiaomi has sent invitation notification for the media to an event, which is scheduled to take place on June 7th. While the company has not mentioned about the exact device, which it is going to launch on the day, it is widely believed that Xiaomi would launch Redmi Y2. The available reports suggest that the successor to Xiaomi Y2, is the same Redmi S2, which the company had launched in China recently.
Essentially a camera centric smartphone, Redmi S2 sports a 16MP front camera, which is powered by AI. There is a dual camera setup on the rear side – 12MP+5MP. Sporting a 5.99 inch display, Redmi S2 comes with a RAM/ROM combination of 4GB/64GB. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo, the device is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC. Going in line with the Chinese price chart, Redmi Y2 would be targeting the sub – 15K market in India.
