Urvashi is one of the most loved stars of Malayalees. They have also won many state and national awards. They talk about a mishap they faced once when they were considered for a national award. Urvashi says that this has troubled her a lot. She had received the state award for the best actress in three years. But the fourth year was not received. The reason for this was that it was given to someone else for a change.
The next year, Urvashi won the State Award for Best Actress. Urvashi would have become the first actress to win the State Best Actress Award five times in a row if she had won the Best Actress Award in the fourth year. Once when she was considered for the National Award, the words spoken by a director from there hurt Urvashi a lot. This is what Urvashi has now revealed. Urvashi was speaking as part of the promotional events of the movie Ullozhuq.
Urvashi’s film, which was considered for the National Award, was a commotion film. A director asked why awards are given to third-rate films like this. Urvashi says this has hurt a lot. Urvashi adds that making commercial films is not an easy task.
The actor added that there is no pain in thinking about the awards he has lost but at the same time he is not overly happy about the achievements he has received. When we make a film, we stand every day calling out Iswara to be a better producer. From Mazhavil Kavadi to Achu’s Amma, most of the films that won me awards were also commercial hits. That is what makes me happy the most. As far as I am concerned, that is the first award that a director gets if he says that Chechi acted well. If the audience likes the film and my acting, that is the second award I will get. And if you get awards, you are only happy, if you don’t get it, there is no sadness – adds Urvashi.
