The Hema Committee report was released a few days ago. It can be said that it literally shook Malayalam cinema. But so far no one in the film industry has responded to this issue. There is also a great deal of criticism against those who do not respond to this issue. A large number of people say that they do this out of fear of being isolated or denied opportunities. On this occasion, actress Seema G Nair has come out with a response.

“There was a comment under my post yesterday. They say I did not respond to the Hema committee report. I told them politely. But again and again they kept commenting. I had to reply. It is a 240 page report. Some part of it is coming on the news channel” – says the actress.

“I am not ready to respond for the moment by saying that those who take swords without understanding it are light. I have responded to many things but this is not one of them. It is the same thing that needs to be studied in detail. I am accused of being silent because I am afraid that the chance will go away. I have been living in this area for four decades. I didn’t get the movies on anyone’s recommendation. I have been given employment by people who call me because they think they know how to act. Even when the Hema Committee report came out, I was after serious issues and still am” – says Seema G Nair.

“Should one run for one’s life, or should one stay with the problems of reacting and the problems? People who are unable to even buy tea for others come to answer me. Even those who lock their profile and talk to them are both women and men. First open it. Then we can talk. The biggest problem in Kerala right now is that I am not responding. So anything can happen” – says Seema.
