KOCHI: Trupti Desai and team reached Kerala for Ayyappa darshan in Sabarimala. They landed at the Nedumbassery Airport and ahead of going to Sabarimala reached the office of the city police commissioner. Bindu Ammini, who reached Sabarimala last year, is also in Desai’s team.
A team of protestors led by BJP leader C G Rajagopal staged a protest in front of the commissioner’s office after knowing the women’s arrival. A verbal dispute broke out between Bindu and the protestors. Following that, one of the protestors sprayed chilly powder on Bindu’s face.
Meantime, Desai and members of Bhumata Brigade are at present at the office of the Kochi City Police Commissioner. The team who left for Pampa from the airport ended their journey in between and sought security from commissioner’s office.
Sabarimala darshan is my right and if the government gives in writing denying permission for darshan then will return, said Desai. Should clarify why we cannot climb or otherwise should make arrangements for the darshan, she said.
