The Supreme Court, today, will hear the plea of Rhea Chakraborty. The actress had earlier filed a plea seeking transfer of an FIR from Patna to Mumbai. The FIR registered at Patna, accuses her of abetting the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Incidentally, the police forces of Bihar and Maharashtra are engaged in a tussle over the right to probe the death of Sushant. As per the plea filed by Rhea, she wanted a transfer of FIR on ground of jurisdiction.
While the plea would be considered by a bench headed by Justice Hrisheksh Roy, it must be maintained that the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had recommended a CBI probe on the case. It was on the request of the actor’s father, Krishna Kishore Singh, which Nitish Kumar has asked the Centre to hand over the case to CBI. On the other hand, the Maharashtra government has opposed to transferring the probe to CBI.
