Kalpatta: SFI State Secretary PM Arshaw has said that the culprits will not be protected in the case of Pookod Veterinary College student Siddharthan's suicide. Arshaw also said that the erring workers have been fired.
Under no circumstances should such attacks be repeated. A thorough investigation should be conducted in the case. Arshaw also said that an exemplary investigation should be conducted against the accused.
Four SFI workers have been named in the anti-ragging cell report. Arshaw said that they were expelled from the organization when they were found to be involved in the crime.
The whole organization is not to be blamed for the incident. This is not a political issue. Arshaw said that it was not planned by the student body.
B.V.S.C. Siddhartha (21), a second-year student from Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram, was found dead in the bathroom of the hostel on February 18.
The complaint is that Siddharth had to face a brutal beating and a mob trial in the college due to a dispute in the college regarding the celebration of Valentine's Day.
It was also alleged that he was continuously beaten without even giving food for three days. The postmortem report also stated that Siddharth was a victim of violence.
