India’s leading smartphone distributor Shoomie today launched its new handset in India. The Redmi 8 phone was launched by Shoomi spokesperson Anuj Sharma. The Redmi 8 launch began by talking about the company’s Diwali With Me sales. Sharmi has sold 53 lakh devices during the festive season. Of these 53 lakh devices, 38 lakh are smartphones.
The Redmi 8 comes with dual camera setup at the rear with the help of artificial intelligence. The device features a 12-megapixel main camera with 1.4 micro pixel size, f / 1.8 aperture and a Sony IMX 363 image sensor. Another special feature is the 2 megapixel depth sensor to aid portraits. Other camera features include AI Scene Detection and Google Lens. The front has an 8-megapixel AI selfie camera.
Redmi 8 packs a 5,000mAh battery with a fingerprint sensor, face unlock and 18W fast charging support. Shomi claims that the Redmi 8 comes with several AI battery features to provide better battery life. It also comes with a USB Type-C port. The box also has a 10W charger.
