Sabarimala is all set to reopen on June 14th as part of the Midhuna month pooja. Minister Kadakampally Surendran has maintained that virtual queue would be arranged for those who want to pay visit. Devotees will be grouped and a group consists of 5 devotees. The registration would be limited to 200 people in an hour. Visiting will also be limited between 4 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 11 pm. Only 50 people will be allowed to enter the temple at a time. People who stand in the queue would have to ensure physical distancing. Also, registration can only be made for people aged between 10 and 65 years. KSRTC buses as well as private vehicles will have travel permits, while the decision is also depended on rain. Devotees coming from other states should upload their passes at the Covid Vigilance Portal and should produce a negative certificate from the ICMR approved lab; the certificate has to be issued within two days prior to the date of entry.
Similarly, virtual queue would be arranged in Guruvayur from June 15th onwards. Only those who register online, would now be able to enter Guruvayur temple. In Guruvayur, a maximum of 600 people can have Darshan, with the hourly visit limited to 150. The Darshan will also be limited between 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. Temple authorities have also made it clear that VIP Darshan would not be provided. Darshan can be performed as a batch, with the number in each batch being limited to 50, and 3 batch per hour. Devotees must have to maintain proper physical distance. The grills inside the temple will be sanitized from time to time. Employees and devotees should also have to wear the mask.
Apart from the general instructions such as barring pilgrims from receiving Prasadam, there will also be restrictions in the number of marriages. A maximum of 60 marriages can be arranged per day. The wedding time will also be regulated between 5:00 am to 1.30 pm, with the time given to perform a wedding being limited to 10 minutes. Up to 10 people can participate, including the bride and groom. While commenting on the emergency situations, the minister also made it clear that there would be an active medical team serving in the premise of the temple.
