The meteorological department has forecast isolated and heavy showers in Kerala for the next two days as the cyclone continues over the southeastern Arabian Sea and northern Tamil Nadu. New low pressure area near Andaman in Bay of Bengal is likely to form in the next 12 hours. It is likely to reach the Bay of Bengal by November 15 and intensify into extreme low pressure. More vigilance has been issued in South Kerala.
Kanyakumari district and Thiruvananthapuram will receive heavy rainfall. Train services were partially disrupted due to flooding on the railway tracks at several places in Kanyakumari district. Two trains were completely canceled and 10 trains were partially canceled. The landslide hit the railway track at Irani near Nagercoil.
In Neyyattinkara, vehicles were diverted after the side wall of the Maruthur bridge collapsed. Vithura, Ponmudi, Nedumangad and Palode also received heavy rainfall. The water level in the Wamanapuram river has risen. The shutters of the Aruvikkara Dam were raised by 400 cm. The Thiruvananthapuram Collector advised to be careful as there is a possibility of heavy rain.
