A poster shared on the official Facebook page of DYFI Karnataka on January 29 was a discussion. The state conference poster of Karnataka DYFI was the subject of controversy.
The poster announcing the date and venue of the 12th state conference of the left party was the subject of controversy. Controversies were caused by the pictures of the people included in it.
The poster has pictures of revolutionaries and socio-political figures like Karl Marx, Che Guevara, Dr BR Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh and Tipu Sultan.
But the poster also includes images of two crowned men with bows and arrows at the bottom. These pictures were being circulated as belonging to Rama Lakshmanan.
Criticism was also raised against DYFI in Kerala, accusing DYFI of using Ramalakshman's picture.
Many people criticized DYFI in this regard. But the DYFI Karnataka unit says that the people wearing bows and arrows seen in this poster are not Rama Lakshmanans.
DYFI Karnataka clarified that the poster of the state conference is not Rama-Lakshmana, but the twin brothers Koti-Chinnaiah who are known as heroes of Karnataka.
The Kotti-Chinnayas are revered by the people of Tulunat as the gurus who imparted to us the ideas and values of the Renaissance. All the people on the poster are heroes who are looked upon by the society as social reformers.
The spokesperson of the DYFI Karnataka unit said that those who have no idea about the people in the picture are spreading misconceptions.
