Calicut University Vice Chancellor Dr. M.K. Quawarando Petition in High Court for Jayarajan’s ouster. Calicut University Senate Member and KPCTA State President Dr. T. The petition was filed by Mohammadali. Justice Devan Ramachandran, who received the petition on file, ordered a notice to be sent to the Calicut VC.
The petitioner has pointed out that the formation of the search committee with the state chief secretary as the convener is against the UGC terms and similarly the appointment of the vice chancellor of KTU by the formation of the search committee has been canceled by the Supreme Court. The petition said that the search committee did not mention the characteristics of the person to be recommended from among the applicants for the post of VC and the governor unilaterally appointed MK Jayaraj as Calicut VC without checking the same.
The petitioner also alleges that the position of the VC, who questioned the governor’s directive to vacate the post of VC in the light of the Supreme Court verdict, has violated the dignity of the post of VC. The petition will be heard on January 13.
