Mohanlal starrer ‘Aaraattu’ seems to be in a mood to create records. But, with ‘Marakkar’ ruling the roost, it seems like this Unnikrishnan B directorial is happy with the second position. As per the reports from the industry, this mass action entertainer has done some fabulous pre – release businesses. The music rights of the movie have been sold out for a monstrous figure – INR 9 Million. Saina Videos has purchased the audio rights of this Mohanlal starrer. Well, this figure, though doesn’t match with the INR 15 Million figure of ‘Marakkar’, is still the second biggest amount that a Malayalam movie has managed to get till date. Rahul Raj has composed the original songs as well as the background score of this entertainer.
Also, the ‘Aaraattu’ makers might fetch INR 80 Million from the overseas rights of the movie. The chart is led by ‘Marakkkar’ by a comfortable margin – INR 140 Million. That said, ‘Aaraattu’ is by all means going to be a profitable venture for the makers, considering the kind of pre – release business that it has attained so far. A joint production venture between Sajeesh Manjery and RD Illuminations, ‘Aaraattu’ will hit big screens on 12th August this year.
