The administrator’s reforms related to the Lakshadweep trip will come into effect from today. Only those with the prior permission of the ADM can enter the island. Visitors to the island are restricted due to their Kovid background. The island could have been visited with the permission of the concerned official on each of these islands. From now on it is not possible. Visitors can enter only with the permission of the ADM.
It is noteworthy that such a move by the Lakshadweep government comes at a time when many political parties in the state have come forward with requests to send their delegation to Lakshadweep.
Even current pass holders will not be able to stay on the island until a week later. It is up to the ADM to decide whether to renew their pass. That regulation has been in place since today. Visitors’ access to Lakshadweep has been tightened amid protests against governance reforms.
