The state government has introduced a new proposal for discharging Covid patients. According to the new proposal, a Covid patient doesn’t need to have two negative test results for getting discharged. Instead, the patient just need a single negative result followed which the patient shouldn’t have shown obvious symptoms for the next 10 days. The decision was taken in accordance with the guidance of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health.
However, if the test results of the patient turn positive, the patient should be subjected to the test, which has to be carried out on alternate days and can be discharged when the result becomes negative. On the other hand, if the Covid patient is showing only minor symptoms, the patient may be tested on the 10th day if they are not symptomatic. People in this group can be discharged 14 days after the initial symptoms appeared.
They should not have shown symptoms, during the conductance of the test. If the group shows symptoms after the 10th day, they may be tested on the very next day of the disappearance of symptoms. They should also not have shown symptoms at least 3 days before discharge.
