The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet in the murder of Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru in Karnataka. The chargesheet has been filed against 20 people associated with the banned organization Popular Front of India. According to the charge sheet, the aim of the Popular Front was to create terror in the society and create fear among the people.

According to the charge sheet, they were also trained to kill the targeted people on the instructions of senior leaders.
A conspiracy was hatched in Bengaluru city, Sullya town and Bellary village under the leadership of Mustafa Paichar, the district leader of Seva Sangh, to kill the leaders of the particular community. Apart from Yuva Morcha district leader Praveen Nettaru, three others were also planned to be killed. According to the charge sheet, the killing of Praveen Nettaru in the presence of people with deadly weapons was to create a large scale of fear in the people. The charge sheet also states that the attack was aimed at people of a particular community.
Praveen Nettaru, a native of Bellary, was killed on July 26 last year. It was discovered that Popular Front workers were behind the murder. A case was registered at Bellary police station in Dakshina Kannada district and later N.I.A. was taking over.
