In making an expansion to the vast array of internet connected security cameras, Nest launched a camera equipped doorbell, which could recognize faces. The Hello doorbell, which comes with a built in video camera as well as speakers, is also able to talk to people.
Using this feature, the doorbell is clubbing the facial recognition technology of Google. Though Nest hasn’t drawn a definite price for the doorbell, it is expected to be unveiled by the end of this year, when the product is stated to hit the market.
Nest, however made it clear that the facial recognition tool would be brought to the outdoor security camera facilities as well, the cost of which would be $349. Well, going in line with Nest’s plans, the company is going to offer the basic security system at a price of $499
