Microsoft has announced that it had completed the company’s first renewable energy deal in India. The deal with the city of Bengaluru, will see the city’s buildings equipped with solar power. Well, Microsoft would soon start buying three megawatts of solar power from Atria Power, a Bengaluru based renewable power producer.
While announcing the news, Microsoft officials maintained that current deal would cater the some 80 percent of its electricity needs. Essentially part of Karnataka government’s solar energy programmes, Microsoft has a number of similar plans in its kitty.
