KSCSTE to organise Techfest in CUSAT from October 26-28

The Technological Festival (TechFest-2022) organized by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) will be held at CUSAT from October 26 to 28 to identify the best projects of engineering students. The Techfest aims to provide a platform for engineering students to showcase their projects and share their experiences, ideas and knowledge with the general community, thereby inspiring more start-up companies.

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), which is in its golden jubilee year, will be the venue for the Tech Fest. On Wednesday (October 26) at 10 am, Naval Physical and Oceanography Laboratory Director Dr. K. Ajith Kumar will inaugurate the fest at the CUSAT open air auditorium. KSCSTE Executive Director and Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Prof. KP Sudheer will preside over the function.

From 141 applications received from engineering students, an expert screening committee shortlisted 33 projects for competition and 15 projects for exhibition. A judging panel constituted by KSCSTE will evaluate the projects and award prizes ranging from Rs.10,000 to Rs.30,000 will be given for the best projects.

Apart from the project competition, TechFest-2022 will also host a technical talk, hackathon and science and technology exhibition. Public and school/college students are admitted to the science and technology exhibition from 9 am to 7 pm.

In the closing ceremony on October 28, Industry, Law and Coir Department Minister P. Rajeev will be the chief guest. Cochin Shipyard Chairman and Managing Director Madhu M. Nair will attend the event as a special guest. Awards for the best projects will also be distributed at the event.
