Kerala High Court on Thursday, found that the dialogues featured in the movie Churuli were not meeting the standards of public decency. It was in response to the petition filed by Thrissur resident Adv. Peggy Fen, that Justice N Nagaresh watched the scenes from the movie. Peggy Fen has also requested the court to remove the film from the OTT platform.
Based on the petition, the court has summoned notices to the central censor board, director Lijo Jose Pellissery, and actor Joju George. However, upon asked, the central censor board replied that, the OTT version was different from the one that was censored.
Upon the release, the movie and the dialogues were subject to intense public scrutiny. With censor board declining to take responsibility over the incident, it has to be seen how the makers of Churuli is going to deal the issue.
