9 RSS workers sentenced to life imprisonment for killing RSS leader Kadavoor Jayan. In addition to life imprisonment, Rs. 81,000 has to be deposited in the court. If not, have to face an additional 4 years in prison. The probe team had found that Jayan, an RSS activist had left the organization was the reason behind the murder.
Jayan, an RSS activist, was killed on February 7, 2012. Jayan was hacked to death by a nine-member gang near Kadavoor junction in Kollam during the day. The Kollam Additional Sessions Court had found all the 11 active RSS workers guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Defendants approached the High Court questioning the lower court’s verdict.
