June 3 Covid Update: 82 news cases reported in Kerala; 72 came from outside

Today, the state has reported 82 new Covid cases, out of which 72 are from outside; of these, 53 are from overseas. 19 came from other states, while 5 got the disease through transmission, out of which the history of one is yet to be traced. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters that the results of the 24 tests turned negative. With this, the total number of cases in the state rose to 1496. 663 were treated, while the state has got 833 active cases right now. The number of new Covid cases in the state, with the district wise break up is as follows,

Kannur – 2

Kozhikode – 7

Malappuram – 11

Palakkad – 5

Thrissur – 4

Ernakulam – 5

Idukki – 9

Kottayam – 8

Alappuzha – 7

Pathanamthitta – 2

Kollam – 5

Thiruvananthapuram – 14

A total of 4,404 samples were tested by the state today. So far, 73,712 samples have been sent for inspection. A total of 69,606 were found to be infected. The state has an active number of 128 hotspots.
