The death of former Ranji Tropy player, Jayamohan Thampi has turned suspicious, and his son Aswin Thampi has been taken under custody. Earlier, police reports suggested that the deep wound in Jayamohan Thampi’s head to be the reason for his death. It is now suspected that there happened some kind of friction between Jayamohan Thampi and son Aswin; Aswin was believed to have pushed his father, which resulted in Jayamohan’s head getting wounded.
Aged 64, Jayamohan Thampi’s body was found at his home in Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. It must be added that, though Police didn’t find Aswin to be involved in this, the investigating team however filed a case of unnatural death. The dead body of Jayamohan Thampi is believed be two days old. A former deputy general manager at the State Bank of Travancore, Jayamohan Thampi, who hailed from Alappuzha, had played for Kerala Ranji team during the period of 1982 – 84.
