In a major development, the Enforcement Directorate has served a notice to superstar Mohanlal over a money laundering case against self-styled antique dealer Monson Mavunkal. This comes after the actor reportedly visited Monson Mavunkal’s museum in Kochi.
According to reports, ED has asked Mohanlal to appear for the interrogation next week. The undergoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate in Monson’s case decided to summon Mohanlal after recording a person’s statement in the case.
The statement recorded revealed that Mohanlal had visited Monson Mavunkal’s museum at Kaloor as invited by another actor who is a friend of Monson.
The Kerala Crime Branch arrested Mavunkal from his residence in Alappuzha on Sunday, September 26, 2021 after a complaint alleged that he had cheated six people of Rs 10 crore. What followed were many revelations about a man who built a name for himself as an antique dealer and had the who-is-who of Kerala visiting him.
