In line with the Central government’s decision to ban 59 Chinese apps, the Indian Army has come up with a similar action. Indian Army has banned 89 apps – both Chinese and non Chinese apps – for its soldiers. That said, soldiers shouldn’t use these apps in their mobile phones. Interestingly, Army’s has enlisted several hugely popular social media applications, that have all become part of mainstream society. Some of the banned apps include, Facebook, Instagram, PUBG, Truecaller, TikTok, Snapchat, Zoom, Reddit, while the army had already advised its soldiers to not use Songs.pk, We Chat, Hike, Shareit, Tinder and to name the rest.

The purpose and scope of these applications range from creating short video clips to those of E Commerce services. As was instructed by the Army, soldiers would have to delete their accounts, if any, from all the mentioned platforms. That said, anyone, whose account, which is still active in these platforms after July 15th, will have to face the irk of the Army.
