Education Minister C Raveendran has informed that SCERT would be preparing a draft for a new syllabus. While revamping the syllabus for the curriculum, SCERT would be including national level skill development programmes. As per the plan, students from class one to ten would be included in the programme, apart from that of VHSE students. SCERT would be modifying the syllabus as well as textbook, by incorporating ICT in the mode of education.
The programme envisions developing and equipping students in order to prepare for a particular vocation. D.Ed, which was the modified version of TTC, would now onwards be called Diploma in Elementary Education.
