Amidst much fanfare, Hyundai India Limited has launched the four-wheel-drive variant of its Tucson. This 4WD with top spec 2.0 Diesel AT GLS variant of the Tucson, is available at a price of INR 25.19 lakh. By introducing the much awaited 4WD system, Hyundai has tightened its grip over the SUV segment.
While launching the model, Hyundai informed that the vehicle’s system comes with the feature of ‘on demand 4WD functioning’. This feature allows vehicle to automatically implement rear wheel traction control, according to the road conditions. While launching the model, company officials added that the system would deliver better fuel efficiency. Coming with this feature, is the 4WD lock mode. This feature aids users to manually activate the 4WD function; in fact, this results in the torque being split between the front and rear wheels in a 50:50 ratio.
On the other hand, the Advanced Traction Cornering Control (ATCC) featured in Tucson’s 4WD, is capable of transferring torque to the wheels according to their grip. Stressing importance on security measurements, The Hyundai Tucson GL – which comes off both in petrol and diesel variants, sports Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Down-Hill Brake Control (DBC) and that of Brake Assist as well.
