A bust of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was made in 156 grams of gold to celebrate the BJP’s historic victory with 156 seats in the Gujarat Assembly. Basant Bora, the owner of Radhika Chains, a jewelery company in Surat, has crafted it in his own factory.
20 workers worked for three months to complete the gold sculpture. 18 carat gold was used. 11 lakh has been spent. The work was completed in December but the weight was high.
After the election result, the weightage was reduced to be proportional to the number of seats. With the massive publicity of the Modi sculpture, people are coming asking for the price and showing interest in buying it. However, Bora said that the sculpture was made out of admiration for Modi and had no intention of selling it at the time.
