Mukesh Shaktiman will be portraying Omar Lulu in Dhamaka. The ban came after Mukesh Khanna, who has copyrights of Shaktiman’s character, had been disputed. Omar Lulu posted on Facebook that Mukesh Khanna had given permission for Shaktiman to be screened in the film and owes a lot to him for accepting his request.
Mukesh Khanna, the actor and producer of the television serial ‘Shakti’ has filed a complaint against director Omar Lulu’s new film Dhamaka. When the director demanded that he use copyrighted ‘Shaktiman’ character in the movie ‘Dhaka’, he wanted to stop this.
Mukesh Khanna’s complaint was that he had copyrighted Shaktiman’s character, its role and theme music and that the character had been uploaded without permission. Shaktimann was a hit television serial in 1997.
Earlier, director Omar Lulu had earlier revealed that he will be playing the role of Malayalam actor Mukesh Shaktiman in certain scenes of Dhamaka. Mukesh Khanna was told that Dhamaka is a strong character in only one of the few scenes in the film, but that if he did not get permission, he would avoid the copyright.
However, the Malayalee audience is looking forward to Mukesh’s Shaktiman role. Dhamaka is an upcoming film starring Arun Nayak, an Olympian Anthony. Nikki Galrani is the heroine.
