Lucknow: A fire broke out in the operation theater of a government hospital in Lucknow. A young woman and her child died in the fire.
The tragic incident took place at Lucknow Post Graduate Institute of Medical Research Hospital. The young woman who was taken for surgery and the child who was taken for heart surgery died.
Officials said the child died of suffocation due to heavy smoke. Officials also said that other patients in the operation theater were safely transferred.
Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire in the operation theater. Reports are that the fire is under control.
