Three people died due to electrocution while installing flux to celebrate Kannada actor Yash’s birthday. The accident took place at Suranagi village in Karnataka’s Gadag district around 1 am on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Hanumanth Harijan (24), Murali Naduvinamani (20) and Naveen Ghaji (20). Three people were injured in the accident.
Manjunath Harijan, Prakash Myageri and Deepak Harijan were injured. They have been shifted to the district hospital for further treatment.
January 8 was Yash’s 37th birthday. As part of the birthday celebration, ten young fans tried to install a 25 feet metal cutout of the star.
While installing the banner, the metal frame hit the overhead power line. According to reports, the three people who were electrocuted died on the spot.
The villagers rushed to the hospital after hearing the screams of others. The Lakshmeshwar police have registered a case in the incident.
