The police arrested the absconding accused in the case of kidnapping, beating and extorting money from a minor boy. Muthiraparampil Praveen (Duke Praveen-23), a resident of Porathisheri, who is accused in many cases, is the SHO of Kattur. Mahesh Kumar and his gang were arrested.
On October 2 last year, the child was kidnapped from Chemmanda and ten thousand rupees was taken as ransom from the relatives. Three people were arrested earlier in the incident. Praveen is accused in many cases, including the attack on the Iringalakuda EX office.
SIs Aristotle, Manikandan, Sr. CPO. Prasad, CPOs Shyam Abhilash, Sabari and Shibu Rajesh were also part of the investigation team.
