As the danger of community spread hangs above the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram, the state might exert strong restrictions on the public. Authorities are planning with the restrictions, after considering the reports, which suggested that more patients are catching the disease from unidentified sources. While speaking of the restrictions, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor K Sreekumar said that the case of a police officer from the AR camp, turning positive, was a sign of danger.
The government however has made several arrangements to reduce the number of people in government offices. The Chief Minister has asked officials to take necessary arrangements to ensure that the secretariat doesn’t get crowded. Reportedly, more restrictions are on the way to the state capital. Already, several regulations have made it to the city, mandating the markets not to open more than three days a week. No shops will be allowed to operate after 7 pm. Mayor has also asked people to avoid mass transit through the city.
