Actor and director Balachandra Menon responded to MT Vasudevan Nair’s political criticism speech the other day. Balachandra Menon’s response is in a post on Facebook titled ‘Ini Nikano Pono’. The full form of the note is, This note is only to convince me that I am alive and that I have permanent intelligence. What I have learned in my film career for so long is how to convey the feeling inside as well as the audience. Let me start with that. There is an expression that says ‘like the blind saw the elephant’. Thus a confusion is created without need. Sri M.T. Vasudevan Nair presented a comprehensive view of the centralization of power at a cultural forum in Kozhikode.
It cannot be said that Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan was on the stage where he talked about excessive power. Instead of looking at the audience in front of the audience, MT spoke rather than hallelujah. That’s why we can’t say ‘tongue fine’. What MT said is not a new theory that we have not heard till today.
“POWER. CORRUPTS; “ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY” is what we are used to hearing since childhood. The problem here is not what was said. As soon as the interpretation of who was spoken about came, the game of ‘turning the goat into a dog’ started. Arguments are raging about Pinarayi and about Modi.
It is not desirable to continue this. Everyone has already forgotten the book release in Kozhikode that caused this controversy and the other distinguished persons who participated in that event.
There is only one way to end this controversy. Either MT. Or Chief Minister. The policy should be clarified.
If a journalist with backbone comes to the scene, you will know whether the child is a boy or a girl. If there is no decision, the common man in front of the TV will go crazy. In the language of politicians, we who eat rice have understood everything properly. And why are you in this trouble? Wait a minute ….pay attention …..have you noticed that those around us are loudly raising their fists and chanting slogans? They are of different ages…belonging to different religions. All of them spoke the same slogan.
Listen ….. “It was not I who rang the church bell ….”
So, should I go now?
