During the past 24 hours, a total of 57,117 fresh Covid cases were reported in India – a record figure till date. With last day’s figure, India’s Covid tally stands 16,95,988 to its credit. On the other hand, India has also managed to add 36,568 cases of recovery during the past 24 hours. The country has also registered 764 new deaths during the last 24 hours. With this, the pandemic has claimed a total of 36,511 lives from India so far. Ministry of Health informs that the active cases in India stands at 5,65,103, whereas a total of 10,94,374 got cured/discharged/migrated.
It has to be noted that the rate of increase in the active cases is tad low, compared to those who get cured. The recovery rate of the country stands at 64.54%, giving a strong positive note to the country’s fight against Covid 19. ICMR statistics show that India has tested a total of 1,93,58,659 samples till day, with country testing a 5,25,689 samples last day.
