Thiruvananthapuram: SFI members have been booked for attempted murder in connection with the attack on University College here. The case is against 13 SFI activists of the college. The case was filed on the basis of the statement of the injured KSU worker.
Meanwhile, SFI and KSU activists have been booked for attacking the police. KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran said that the attack on the university college was a mob attack and accused the CPM with the help of the goons.
SFI activists attacked KSU activist and MA student Nitin Raj at university college hostel last Wednesday night. The attack was led by SFI leader Ettappan Mahesh. The victim sustained serious injuries to his face and arm and assaulted a friend who tried to stop him. After this incident, there were scenes of Ettappan Mahesh threatening to enter the hostel with Mahesh and his friend.
KSU students at college on Thursday to protest oppression. The study was over. SFI and KSU clashes on campus yesterday. Two persons, including KSU state president KM Abhijit, were injured. Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and other Congress leaders protested on the road.
