With the first quarter reports of Amazon Inc coming out, it was visible that the Amazon Ad sales has surged past the $2 Billion mark. The figure, though cannot be compared with those of Google and Facebook, is still pretty much higher than those of Twitter’s and Snapchat’s. According to Amazon, the ‘Amazon ad’ revenue accounted for over 72 percent of the ‘Other’ section of its business. Earlier, in October, last year, Internet research firm eMarketer predicted that Amazon would hit the $3.19 Billion mark in the US digital ad revenue by 2019.
Now, Amazon has got some serious plans with its ‘Ad sales’ section. With Amazon having an edge over Google and Facebook, in knowing a user’s buying behavior, ‘Amazon Ad’ sales has got a tremendous opportunity lying ahead in India.
