Law student of Pathanamthitta Mount Sion College goes to court against the police. The student came to the court after complaining that she was beaten up by the SFI workers. The Aranmula police have filed a case against the beaten up people on frivolous charges. The police deliberately failed in the investigation of the case.
Penkutty had lodged a complaint with the DGP and Chief Minister demanding that justice should be done and that there was no faith in the Aranmula police’s investigation. Even three days after filing the complaint of beating, the police did not register the FIR due to political pressure. A case was registered against the SFI members when the Youth Congress workers protested by sitting inside the station. But after that the police registered two FIRs with lightning speed on the complaints lodged by the SFI activists against the girl. A case has been filed against the Youth Congress KSU leaders who protested on behalf of the student under non-bailable clauses.
