Two people have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a 10-year-old boy and his brutal murder after demanding Rs 25 lakh. Asif Alam, son of Shikaripalaya, Bengaluru resident Muhammad Abbas, was killed. Asif went missing from Hebbagodi on the 3rd of this month. An unidentified man called his father Mohammad Abbas and demanded that Asif be in custody and pay a ransom of Rs 25 lakh. Following this, the father lodged a complaint with the police.
The body of the child was found in a desolate place in Jigini, Bengaluru during a police investigation. Police said the suspects killed the child and fled for fear of being caught. Two accused, Mohammad Noushad and Siraj, were arrested from Chhattisgarh following a tip-off from a friend of the child.
The main accused, Mohammad Javed Sheikh, is absconding. The suspects told police that the boy was abducted to find money to live with his girlfriend in Mumbai. Mohammad Javed Sheikh came to Bangalore from Bihar three years ago in search of work. He was working as a CCTV mechanic. Police have launched a search for the accused.
