The police made them write 500 times saying, “I’m not following the lock-down rules. I’m sorry.” The police were informed that there were a few foreigners in the area and that they were not following the lockdown rules. On the basis of these inspections, they were arrested.
Asked by police why they were roaming during a lockdown, they replied that they thought they would be free from 7 am to 1 pm. But the police convinced them that this concession was for those who would go out to buy essential goods. Thereafter, the police demanded them to write imposition for five hundred times.
“This time we will impose a simple punishment but once again we will be blocked from entering India by blacklisting,” said police officer Vinod Kumar Sharma, who is in charge of Tapovan police check post.
